Does Mello Voice send my voice to the cloud?

No. The desktop app transcribes on your computer using a local speech model (Whisper). Your audio and transcript are not uploaded to Mello Voice or a third-party speech API for dictation.

How do I start and stop dictating?

Double-tap your shortcut key to toggle dictation on and off. The default is Caps Lock, but you can choose another key in Settings.

Which apps does it work in?

Any app where you can type. Put the cursor in the field you want, dictate, and Mello Voice pastes the finished text there — email, chat, docs, code editors, and AI prompts included.

How long can I dictate in one session?

Up to ten minutes per session. Mello Voice is built for short bursts, not long-form recording. When you hit the limit, it stops automatically and pastes what you captured so nothing is lost.

Does it work on Mac and Windows?

Yes. Download the installer for your platform from GitHub Releases — a Windows setup wizard or macOS disk image, depending on your machine.

What happens after I finish speaking?

Mello Voice copies the polished text to your clipboard and pastes it into the focused field. In Settings you can choose Paste text or Paste and send, which also presses Enter for chat-style apps.
